Prior to founding Portal, Evan was an investor at Insight Partners ($90B AUM), the largest global venture fund, where he supported companies from seed to pre-IPO. He helped invest $600M+ globally in businesses across crypto, FinTech, internet, and software. Evan started his career in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs. He sits at the intersection of traditional finance frameworks, venture company building, and crypto nativity to bring unique protocol business model perspectives to the space.

Catrina uniquely combines her business strategy, thematic research, and operating experience across web2 & web3 to source and support portfolio companies. Prior to Portal, she operated at Protocol Labs & Apple, invested at Hivemind Capital, and was among the founding members of Deloitte Consulting’s Blockchain Program in 2017. She organizes the annual UPenn Blockchain Conference, mentors university accelerators such as Penn, Stanford, Harvard, and UT Austin, and designed the crypto curriculum of the Wharton School.

Evan’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of crypto talent led him to serve as President of Michigan Blockchain and to found the University Blockchain Conference, which is the largest student-led gathering in the industry, with 750+ student attendees from 80+ universities globally. While in school, he spent two years at Parcl, driving business development and marketing efforts, and supporting the project through its token launch. Evan remains engaged in student onboarding and ecosystem growth across the crypto space.
